- "Leaving on a High Note" ist eine Reflexion über Schönheit und das Medium Buch. Die Arbeit bringt vielfältiges visuelles Material, von gescannten Fotografien und Kunstwerken über handgezeichnete Textilmuster bis hin zu in Auftrag gegebenen künstlerischen Beiträgen, zusammen. Als eine Art poetisches Moodboard geht das Projekt der Frage nach, wie sich Atmosphäre, Schönheit und visuelle Intuition durch Kuration im Zusammenspiel mit materiellen Entscheidungen formen lassen. Das Papier wurde akribisch gewählt, um die Betrachtung um eine haptische Ebene zu erweitern. Die Bindung durch den Rücken des Hardcovers verweist auf den konzeptuellen, redaktionellen und praktischen Prozess, der zum finalen Objekt geführt hat. Das Buch enthält künstlerische Beiträge von Alva Bücking sowie Zeichnungen von Charlotte Singer.
"Leaving on a High Note" wurde im Rahmen einer Ausstellung gezeigt, die die Stimmung des Buches in den Raum übertrug. Die Soirée fand am 17. Dezember 2025 im ZKM Pavillon in Karlsruhe statt und umfasste eine Installation und eine Chorperformance. Der Chor wurde von Leonie Inga Klopstock geleitet und mit von Anton Schüler designten Krägen ausgestattet.

It functions as a poetic moodboard, exploring how atmosphere, beauty and visual intuition can be shaped through curation and material decisions. The paper was chosen meticulously in order to introduce a refined tactile experience to the act of viewing. The work is bound with thread punched through the hardcover spine, referencing the conceptual, editorial and practical process that led to the final object. The book includes commissioned work by Alva Bücking as well as drawings by Charlotte Singer.
"Leaving on a High Note" was shown in an exhibition that translated the book’s mood into the space. The soirée took place at the ZKM Pavillon in Karlsruhe on December 17, 2025 and featured an installation alongside a choir performance. The choir was conducted by Leonie Inga Klopstock and outfitted with collars by Anton Schüler.

- Jeder Mensch träumt, manche Träume sind lebendig und bildhaft, andere abstrakt und symbolisch. In meiner Abschlussarbeitrbeit habe ich Traumerfahrungen in interaktive Objekte übersetzt und im Rahmen einer interaktive Ausstellung präsentiert. Darin werden sieben Traumthemen reflektiert: zwei der häufigsten Traumarten, Alptraum und Lusttraum; zwei wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse, die Schwierigkeit des Gehirns, im Schlaf Gesichter und Figuren zu erkennen sowie die Unfähigkeit, Muster in geschriebener Schrift zu lesen; drei persönliche Faszinationen, das Ritual des Einschlafens, des Aufwachens sowie das Träumen als Reise in fantastische Welten.

- Everyone dreams, some dreams are vivid and lifelike, others abstract and symbolic. In my diploma project I translated dream experiences into interactive objects and presented them in an interactive exhibition, reflecting seven dream themes: two addressing the most common dream types, nightmare and pleasure dreaming; two drawing on scientific research, the brain's difficulty recognising faces and figures during sleep, and its inability to read patterns in written text; three rooted in personal fascination, the rituals of falling asleep and waking, and dreaming as a passage to fantastical worlds.

- „Imaginary Gardens with Real Toads in Them“ ist eine bekannte Zeile aus dem Gedicht „Poetry“ der amerikanischen Dichterin Marianne Moore. Es beschreibt ihre Einstellung zu Poesie und Kunst. „Imaginary gardens“ symbolisieren den idealisierten, fantastischen Teil von Kunst und Literatur – eine Vorstellung oder Wunschvorstellung, die die Fantasie anregt. Auf der anderen Seite stehen „real toads“ für die realen, greifbaren, oft unromantischen oder nicht idealisierten Aspekte der Welt – Dinge, die konkret und wahr sind, aber vielleicht nicht so schön wie die imaginären Visionen.
In meiner Ausstellung nahm ich mit drei Objekten Bezug auf diese Vorstellung:
– Eine Bank, die den Besucher zum Sitzen und Verweilen, zum Innehalten und Beobachten einlädt. Sie steht für Besinnung und die Erkenntnis der eigenen Position im Garten.
– Eine Kräuterkiste, die für das alte Wissen der Natur steht. Sie symbolisieren die verborgenen Schätze und Geheimnisse, die entdeckt und genutzt werden können. Hier ist der Besucher eingeladen, sich selbst einen Tee zusammenzustellen und aufzubrühen.
– Der Wächter des Gartens – die Kröte – und ihr Rückzugsort, der Brunnen, dienen als Quelle für alle Lebewesen. Der Brunnen steht für Tiefe und Erkenntnis, ein Ort, der durch Achtsamkeit zugänglich ist.
Begleitend zur Ausstellung lag am Eingang der Ausstellung ein kleines Leaflet für jeden Besucher mit einer von mir illustrierten Pflanze. Dazu habe ich eine kleine Geschichte zu meinem „Imaginary Garden“ abgedruckt, daneben ein Plan der Ausstellung mit Hinweisen zu den verschiedenen Objekten. Auf der Rückseite findet sich ein Impressum meiner ganzen Recherche.

- „Imaginary Gardens with Real Toads in Them“ is a well-known line from the poem „Poetry“ by American poet Marianne Moore. It describes her attitude towards poetry and art.
„Imaginary gardens“ symbolises the idealised, fantastical part of art and literature – an idea or wishful thinking that stimulates the imagination. On the other hand, „real toads“ represents the real, tangible, often unromantic or non-idealised aspects of the world – things that are concrete and true, but perhaps not as beautiful as imaginary visions.
In my exhibition, I referenced this idea with three objects:
– A bench that invites visitors to sit and linger, to pause and observe. It stands for reflection and awareness of one's own position in the garden.
– A herb box, which represents the ancient knowledge of nature. They symbolise the hidden treasures and secrets that can be discovered and used. Here, visitors are invited to mix and brew their own tea.
– The guardian of the garden – the toad – and its retreat, the well, serve as a source for all living creatures. The well represents depth and insight, a place that can be accessed through mindfulness.
Accompanying the exhibition, a small leaflet was available for each visitor at the entrance, featuring a plant illustrated by me. I also printed a short story about my „Imaginary Garden“. Next to it was a map of the exhibition with information about the various objects. On the back is an imprint of my entire research.

- „rethinking public space“ ist ein Projekt, das sich mit Street-Skating und Skate-Kultur befasst und untersucht, wie Skateboarder öffentliche Räume neudenken und umgestalten können.
Das Projekt besteht aus einer Publikation mit Fotos von Street-Skate-Spots und Interviews. Es enthält ein Interview mit der Stadt Stuttgart, über den Bau von Skateparks, DIY-Parks und Skate-Stoppern, und ein zweites Interview mit einem Skateboarder und Content Creator aus San Diego, der über die Skate-Kultur, ihre Beziehung zur Öffentlichkeit und die kreativen Wege spricht, mit denen Skateboarder Herausforderungen überwinden.
Die Publikation funktioniert wie ein Daumenkino, das alle Skate-Spots aus dem gleichen Blickwinkel zeigt und die Bewegung des Grindens durch sie hindurch nachahmt, unterbrochen nur durch Skate-Stopper-Seiten. Darauf folgen die Interviews.
Die Publikation ist in ein mit Wachs versiegeltes, siebgedrucktes Stoffband mit dem Namen der Publikation eingewickelt.
Weitere Wachsbänder, die jeweils einen Auszug aus einem der Interviews zeigen, sind über die gesamte Ausstellung verteilt.
Ein weiteres Element des Projekts auf Wachsbasis sind die Skatestopper-Wachsrepliken, die den Skatestoppern in Karlsruhe nachempfunden sind und das Skateboarden ermöglichen, anstatt es zu verhindern.
Begleitend zur Publikation gibt es eine Rampe aus alten Straßenschildern und Holzabfällen sowie eine Rail aus einem alten Rutschen-Seitenteil. Diese Elemente sind eine Hommage an DIY-Skate-Spots und nutzen kostengünstige, leicht verfügbare Ressourcen.

- 'rethinking public space' is a project focusing on street skating and skate culture, as well as exploring how skateboarders can reuse and reshape public spaces.
The project consists of a publication containing photographs of street skate spots and interviews. There is one interview with a city official talking about the process of building skate parks, DIY parks and skate stoppers, and a second interview with a skateboarder and content creator from San Diego talking about skate culture, its relationship with the public, and the creative ways skateboarders overcome obstacles.
The publication functions as a flipbook, showing all the skate spots from the same angle and emulating the motion of grinding through them, interrupted only by skate stopper pages. These are followed by the interviews.
The publication is wrapped in a wax-sealed, screen-printed cloth band bearing the publication's name.
More wax bands, each showcasing an excerpt from one of the interviews, are spread throughout the exhibition.
Another wax-based element of the project is the skatestopper wax replicas, modelled on those found in Karlsruhe, which enable skateboarding rather than prevent it.
Accompanying the publication is a ramp made from scrap street signs and discarded wood, as well as a rail made from an old slide side piece. These elements pay homage to DIY skate spots and utilise affordable, readily available resources.

This projects goal was to find an approach to what the letter, the symbol, the figure X means to different people. Starting out as obsession with seeing the pattern of three Xes everywhere in my daily life , this work led to a collection of the meanings that X might or might not inherit and is an Invite to look for the pattern as well. I present my current approach to the theme of X; trying to find a way of connecting different ideas into a pattern. It runs through my life—and really through all of ours—and I share my perspective with the viewer. In my exhibition, I captured my exploration in 22 posters and a 130-page publication.

- „Emil” ist ein Diplomprojekt, das die Rolle der Typografie im Umgang mit Erinnerung, Verdrängung und historischen Brüchen untersucht. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Lebens- und Werkgeschichten jüdischer Gestalter:innen während des Nationalsozialismus, darunter Elizabeth Friedländer und Lucian Bernhard (geb. Emil Kahn).
Ein zentrales Element des Projekts ist das Revival der Bernhard Antiqua von Lucian Bernhard. Die Schrift wurde für die zeitgenössische Nutzung digital neu interpretiert und prägt die gesamte visuelle Ebene des Projekts – von der Plakatserie über die Ausstellungsgestaltung bis hin zur Vortragspräsentation. So wird Typografie zum Untersuchungsgegenstand und zum gestalterischen Werkzeug der Erinnerung.
Für Julian Jaffé, Nachfahre einer jüdischen Familie, die im Nationalsozialismus ins Exil gezwungen wurde, ist "Emil" nicht nur ein typografisches Projekt, sondern auch ein persönlicher Akt des Erinnerns.

- Emil is a diploma project that examines the role of typography in dealing with memory, repression and historical ruptures. It focuses on the lives and works of Jewish designers during National Socialism, including Elizabeth Friedländer and Lucian Bernhard (born Emil Kahn).
A central element of the project is the revival of Bernhard Antiqua by Lucian Bernhard. The font has been digitally reinterpreted for contemporary use and shapes the entire visual level of the project – from the poster series to the exhibition design and lecture presentation. In this way, typography becomes both the subject of investigation and a creative tool of remembrance.
For Julian Jaffé, a descendant of a Jewish family forced into exile during the Nazi era, ‘Emil’ is not only a typographic project, but also a personal act of remembrance.

- Die Diplomarbeit „LET ME SEE (c) THE SUN“ setzt sich mit Sprache und Kommunikation auseinander, wobei das Medium Kleidung als Sprachrohr von Geschichten und als Bote von Identitäten analysiert werden soll.
Die ausgestellten Arbeiten greifen visuelle Elemente von Theaterkostümen, Bühnenrequisiten und Umkleidekabinen auf, um Besucher*innen einzuladen, sich selbst als Performer*innen von Sprache und Identität wahrzunehmen. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf grafischen T-Shirts, da diese oft kulturelle Assoziationen oder oberflächliche Identitäten signalisieren (z. B. Bandshirts, Arbeitskleidung). Diese bekannte Struktur wird dekonstruiert und umgebaut, um Betrachter*innen die Bewohnbarkeit von Sprache zu verdeutlichen.
Die begleitende Performance beschäftigt sich mit der Mehrdeutigkeit von Sprache, die stets von persönlicher Interpretation abhängt. Wörter und Texte sind untrennbar mit ihrem Kontext sowie der Art und Weise verbunden, wie und wo sie erscheinen. In den Text-/Textil-Konstruktionen werden Wörter zu Requisiten, die Bedeutungen – sowohl offensichtlich als auch schwer fassbar – tragen und durch das Medium der Requisite von anderen „bewohnt“ werden können.

- The diploma project “LET ME SEE (c) THE SUN” deals with language and communication, analyzing the medium of clothing as a mouthpiece for stories and as a messenger of identities.
The exhibited works take up visual elements of theater costumes, stage props and dressing rooms to invite visitors to perceive themselves as performers of language and identity. A particular focus is placed on graphic T-shirts, as these often signal cultural associations or superficial identities (e.g. band shirts, work clothes). This familiar structure is deconstructed and rebuilt to show viewers the habitability of language.
The accompanying performance deals with the ambiguity of language, which always depends on personal interpretation. Words and texts are inextricably linked to their context and how and where they appear. In the text/textile constructions, words become props that carry meanings - both obvious and elusive - and can be “inhabited” by others through the medium of the prop.

Die szenische Installation „Cooking Care“ zeigt eine pflanzen gefärbte Patchwork-Tischdecke, die die Geschichten von Valeria, Susanne, Anna, Heike und Anne und deren unbezahlten Sorgearbeit über eine Woche hinweg in sich aufgesogen hat. Sie möchte die unsichtbare Arbeit sichtbar machen, investierte Zeit würdigen und sie feiern. Sie bietet eine Bühne, um ihre Stimmen zu hören, Verbindungen zu knüpfen und sich gegenseitig zu unterstützen.
Ausgangspunkt dieses Projekts war ein Abendessen mit fünf Frauen, die in verschiedenen Bereichen der unbezahlten Sorgearbeit tätig sind. An diesem Abend war das Kochen eine gemeinsame Aufgabe, die es allen ermöglichte, nicht nur den Prozess und das gemeinsame Essen zu genießen, sondern auch sich umeinder zu sorgen. Es wurde eine Reihe von vorbereiteten Fragen gestellt, um einen Raum für den Austausch von Geschichten, Zweifeln und Erfahrungen zu schaffen.
Darüber hinaus wurden die Teilnehmer ermutigt, die Stunden unbezahlter Sorgearbeit, die sie in den nächsten sieben Tagen leisteten, zu dokumentieren; sie sollten konkrete Zahlen auf Papier bringen, um die Stunden sowohl für sich selbst als auch für andere sichtbar zu machen. Sie wurden auch gebeten, die psychische Belastung zu dokumentieren, die sie in dieser Zeit erfahren haben. Anschließend wurden die dokumentierten Stunden unterschiedlicher Sorgearbeit und die entsprechende psychische Belastung in eine abstrakte Infografik – in Form einer Tischdecke – übersetzt.
Die Tischdecke besteht aus mehreren gleich großen Quadraten, die jeweils eine Stunde unbezahlter Pflegearbeit repräsentieren, die von diesen fünf Frauen im Laufe der sieben Tagen dokumentiert wurde. Die einzelnen Stoffstücke wurden mit essbaren, saisonalen und lokal beschafften Pflanzen gefärbt, von denen viele selbst gesammelt wurden. Sie wurden vorbehandelt und 24 bis 48 Stunden lang im Färbebad gekocht. Da es sich bei den Stoffen um gebrauchte Haushaltstextilien handelt, hat jedes Stück seine eigene Geschichte und variiert in seiner Fähigkeit, Farbe zu absorbieren. Daher war der Färbeprozess experimentell und variierte, was jedes Mal zu einem einzigartigen Ergebnis führte. Außerdem trug der unterschiedliche Wuchs der zum Färben verwendeten Pflanzen zur Vielfalt der Ergebnisse bei.
Jede gefärbte Farbnuance steht für eine andere Art von Pflegearbeit. Bei hoher psychischer Belastung wurden die Quadrate mit zusätzlichem Stoff durch die Quilting Technik verdickt. Die so entstandene Tischdecke dient somit als künstlerische Abstraktion der unbezahlten Sorgearbeit, die ihre Sichtbarkeit erhöhen soll.

The spatial installation 'Cooking Care' shows a plant-dyed patchwork tablecloth soaked in the stories of Valeria, Susanne, Anna, Heike und Anne and their unpaid care-workload of one week. It aims to reach visibility, to celebrate, and appreciate the time and effort put into that work, and to give their voices a stage to be heard, connected and empowered.
The starting point of this project was a dinner with five women who engage in different fields of unpaid care work. That evening, cooking was a shared task, allowing everyone to not only enjoy the process and feasting together but also to care for each other. A set of premeditated question was asked to create a space to share stories, doubts, and experiences.
Furthermore, the participants were encouraged to document the hours of unpaid care work they performed over the next seven days; to provide actual numbers on paper, making it visible both to themselves and to others. They were also asked to document the mental load they experienced during this time. Then, the documented hours of different care work and the according mental load were translated into an abstract infographic in the form of a tablecloth.
The tablecloth consists of multiple squares of identical size each representing one hour of unpaid care work as documented by these five women over the course of seven days. The individual fabric pieces have been dyed using edible, seasonal, and locally-sourced plants, many of which were self-collected. They were pre-treated and cooked in the dye bath for 24 to 48 hours. Since the fabric consists of second hand household textiles, each piece carries its own history and varies in its ability to absorb dye. Thus, the dyeing process was experimental and varied with each batch, resulting in a unique outcome every time. The different growth of the plants used for dyeing added to the variety.
Each dyed color shade stands for a different type of care work. When there was a high mental load reported, squares were also thickened with additional fabric by the quilting technique. The resulting tablecloth thus serves as an artistic abstraction of the unpaid care work that aims to increase its visibility.

- “eternal girlhood” ist eine konzeptionelle Arbeit, welche aus einer Rauminstallation und einer Publikation besteht.
Ursprünglich in den Chinesischen Pavillons des Fasanengartens in Karlsruhe installiert, wurde der Raum mit der Handlung der Publikation durch Requisiten sowie ein selbst produziertes Musikstück verknüpft.
Das Projekt ermöglicht eine Reise in eine poetische Geschichte, inspiriert von persönlichen und kulturellen Themen wie Girlhood, Coming-of-Age und Growing Pains.
Die handgebundene Publikation mit glitzerndem und geprägtem Umschlag umfasst auf ca. 100 Seiten neben Serien analoger Schwarzweiß-Fotografie farbige Mittelformat-Fotos, begleitet von analogen Schnappschüssen und Illustrationen im Riso-Druck.
Zwischen Fotoserien und Illustrationen sind Songtexte sowie Skriptfragmente und Gedichte eingestreut, in Referenz zu Filmsequenzen aus Coming-of-Age-Geschichten. Es ergibt sich die zeitlose Skizze eines Mädchens, das Teil einer innig verbundenen Mädchengruppe ist.
Transparente Drucke von drei Mittelformat-Fotografien werden vom Fensterlicht erleuchtet und symbolisieren in Zusammenhang mit dem Buch unterschiedliche Kapitel der Geschichte.
Unter einem Baldachin, umgeben von funkelnd tanzenden Schmetterlingen, können Besucher*innen in diese Welt eintauchen und sind eingeladen, für einen Moment Teil von „eternal girlhood“ zu sein, fernab der Echtzeit.

Initially installed in the Chinese pavillons of the Fasanengarten in Karlsruhe, the space was connected to the story of the book through props and a musical sound score.
The project offers a journey into a poetic story, inspired by personal and cultural ideas on girlhood, coming of age and growing pains.
Handbound, wrapped in a glittery embossed dustcover, the publication features around 100 pages with multiple series of black and white film photography, medium format shots underlined by analog snapshots and Riso printed Illustrations. In between the chapters of photography and Illustrations, lyrics, fragments of script and poems are inserted in reference to movie sequences from coming of age stories. A timeless profile of a girl being part of girlhood and a deeply connected friendship is created.
Transparent prints of three medium format photos are illuminated by the windows’ natural light and symbolize different chapters of the story in combination with the book.
Underneath a canopy, surrounded by sparkling dancing butterflies, visitors can dive into this world and are invited to become part of “eternal girlhood“, away from modern reality.

Result of several automatic writing sessions, the text uses a plurality of voices to represent different perspectives and versions of myself: the expert, the fan, the vulnerable and the one where i become the object of my obsession.
