- Forest Souvenirs ist ein modulares System langlebiger Verbindungselemente, das aus ausrangierten Aluminium-Autofelgen gefertigt wird und recyceltes Metall mit von den Nutzer:innen gesammelten, ausgewählten und bearbeiteten Holzästen kombiniert. So entstehen flexible Alltagsobjekte wie Stühle, Lampen, Garderoben oder Kleiderhaken aus lokal gefundenen Materialien. Statt fertiger Produkte bietet das System eine einfache, robuste metallische Schnittstelle, die zur aktiven Aneignung einlädt. Die leimfreien, wiederverwendbaren Verbinder ermöglichen den Aufbau ohne spezielle Werkzeuge oder Vorkenntnisse und machen Materialkreisläufe im Gebrauch unmittelbar erfahrbar.
Forest Souvenirs versteht sich als offenes, zirkuläres Designsystem zwischen industrieller Logik und naturbasiertem Gestalten. Es verlängert nicht nur Materiallebenszyklen, sondern schafft eine hybride Formensprache, die den Archetyp des selbstgebauten Möbels neu interpretiert. Die entstehenden Objekte sind keine fixen Produkte, sondern wandelbare Konfigurationen – ein kontinuierlicher Dialog zwischen Material, Umwelt und Nutzer:innen, die zu Co-Designer:innen werden und eine stärkere emotionale Bindung sowie ein vertieftes Materialbewusstsein entwickeln.

- Forest Souvenirs reimagines our relationship with everyday objects by bridging industrial production and nature-based making. Rooted in humanity's earliest practices of sourcing and shaping materials from the immediate environment, the project responds to the detachment created by global industrialization. Instead of offering finished products, it transforms a discarded aluminum car rim into a modular system of nine durable connectors, each made from 100% recycled material. These elements serve as a simple yet precise interface, enabling users to combine them with wooden branches they collect, select, and shape themselves.
Through this process, found materials become functional objects such as chairs, lamps, coat racks, hangers, or even a walking cane. Assembly requires no adhesives or specialized tools, making the system accessible, reusable, and fully recyclable. The mono-material aluminum ensures a closed material cycle, while the organic variability of wood introduces uniqueness and adaptability. Each object becomes a reflection of its maker and its environment.
Forest Souvenirs places the user at the center of creation. The act of gathering wood becomes an intentional journey—an invitation to slow down, step outside urban routines, and reconnect with nature. Walking replaces driving, making replaces consuming. This participatory approach fosters emotional attachment, material awareness, and a deeper appreciation for resources and processes.
By merging industrial logic with the archetype of self-crafted furniture, the project establishes a hybrid design language that is both contemporary and timeless. The aluminum connector acts as a threshold between two worlds: standardized production and organic growth. In doing so, Forest Souvenirs challenges conventional systems of consumption and proposes an alternative grounded in reuse, care, and engagement.
Ultimately, the project reframes everyday objects as evolving, personal artifacts. It empowers users as co-designers and encourages a shift from passive consumption toward active participation—offering not just objects, but meaningful experiences and a renewed connection to our surroundings.

- What is X anyway? What does X mean to me and what does it mean to others? Where is X used and what do we see in it? What do we project onto X? Do we need to define X?
This projects goal was to find an approach to what the letter, the symbol, the figure X means to different people. Starting out as obsession with seeing the pattern of three Xes everywhere in my daily life , this work led to a collection of the meanings that X might or might not inherit and is an Invite to look for the pattern as well. I present my current approach to the theme of X; trying to find a way of connecting different ideas into a pattern. It runs through my life—and really through all of ours—and I share my perspective with the viewer. In my exhibition, I captured my exploration in 22 posters and a 130-page publication.

- Die kreisförmige Mehrfachsteckdose gibt einem oft unbeachteten
Alltagsobjekt eine Stimme.
Der Kreis steht dabei sinnbildlich für Ordnung, Übersicht und Bewegung.
Anders als klassische Steckleisten, die sich in Ecken drängen lassen,
behauptet dieses Objekt seine Präsenz –
es verweigert das Verstecktsein und fühlt sich im Zentrum des Raums am
wohlsten.
Durch die mehrdirektionale Anordnung lassen sich Geräte aus allen
Richtungen mit Strom versorgen – eine Auflösung der linearen Nutzung
zugunsten räumlicher Offenheit.
Bis zu sieben Meter Kabel, die außen aufgewickelt werden, ermöglichen eine
flexible Nutzung in unterschiedlichsten Raumsituationen.
Die transparente Gestaltung der Seitenteile aus Plexiglas fördert ein neues
Bewusstsein für das Objekt – sie macht Funktion sichtbar und
Haltung greifbar.
So wird aus einem technischen Alltagsgegenstand ein
flexibler Begleiter, der sichtbar, nutzbar und verständlich
im Raum existiert.

- The circular multiplug gives a voice to an often unnoticed everyday object. Here the circle symbolizes order, overview and movement. Unlike classic power strips, which can be pushed into corners, this object asserts its presence - it refuses to be hidden and feels most comfortable in the center of the room. The multi-directional arrangement allows devices to be supplied with power from all directions - a dissolution of linear use in favour of spatial openness. Up to seven meters of cable, which are wound up on the outside, enable flexible use in a wide variety of room situations. The transparent design of the Plexiglas side panels promotes a new awareness of the object - it makes function visible and attitude tangible. This turns an everyday technical object into a flexible companion that is visible, usable and understandable in the room.

Seine Form ermöglicht es, die Flasche auf viele Weisen körpernah zu tragen und in die Umgebung einzubinden.
So wird die Flasche zur persönlichen, was dazu einlädt sie nach dem Leeren nicht wegzuwerfen, sondern immer wieder aufzufüllen.
Die ständige Verfügbarkeit von Wasser fördert ganz nebenbei einen erhöhten Wasserkonsum.

- Plastic Fugue ist eine interaktive Klanginstallation, die mit einer Kindheitserinnerung an die Konzertflöte beginnt, ein Instrument, das ich aufgrund finanzieller Schwierigkeiten nie erlernen konnte und das für mich zum Symbol des Klassismus wurde. Finanzielle Einschränkung ist nicht nur unangenehm, sondern lässt Kinder sich als ungeeignet empfinden, überhaupt etwas zu versuchen, und normalisiert dadurch Klassismus, selbst in der Kunst.
Es passierte mir erneut, als ich Malerei studierte. Die Materialien, Leinwand, Holz, Stoff, Papier, Farbe, Öl, ja sogar ein Bleistift, werden mit einer gewissen Aura vermarktet. Unsere Kunst ist längst zu sehr mit der neoliberalen Wirtschaft verstrickt, ironischerweise im Widerspruch zu ihrem eigentlichen Ziel, Freiheit. Die Qualität von Kunst über den Preis der Materialien zu definieren, ist eine Wiederholung alter Muster, so wie Blau und Grün einst als Zeichen des Reichtums galten und dem Adel vorbehalten waren.
Diese Struktur führte dazu, dass ich klassische Musik als die einzig wahre Musik betrachtete und die Leinwandmalerei, die im späten 15. Jahrhundert in Italien entstand, als den allein gültigen Standard in der bildenden Kunst. Jahrzehnte später erkannte ich, dass es jenseits dessen, was ich damals als Kunst verstand, auch Formen gab, die aus verschiedenen kulturellen Kontexten stammen und nicht als Teil dieses Standards wahrgenommen wurden. Dann versuchte ich, all diese ironischen Elemente in die verschiedenen Medien einzubringen, mit denen ich bisher gearbeitet hatte.

- Plastic Fugue is an interactive sound installation project that begins with a childhood memory of the concert flute, which I couldn't learn due to financial hardship, and which came to symbolize classism to me. Being financially debilitated is not only a discomfort, but also makes children feel unqualified to even try, thereby normalizing this classism even in art.
It happened to me again when I studied painting. The materials are marketed with an aura, including canvas, wood, fabric, paper, paint, oil, and even a pencil. Our art already conspires too much with the neoliberal economy, ironically, against its supposed goal: liberty. Classifying the quality of art based on the price of materials is repetitive, much like how blue and green, once symbols of wealth, were valued and reserved for royalty in history.
This structure led me to view classical music as the only true form of music, and canvas painting, which originated in Italy in the late 15th century, as the sole standard in visual art. Decades later, I realized there was more art behind the things I once believed to be art alone. Then I attempted to gather all these ironical elements into diverse mediums I had experienced so far.

- „finding traces and placing connections“ ist eine interaktive Kunstinstallation und ein persönlicher Liebesbrief an das Material Kupfer. Die Arbeit zelebriert die Funktionalität, Vielseitigkeit und Schönheit des Kupfers.
Besucher*innen können die in den Teppich eingelassenen Kupferflächen durch fünf verkupferte Steine verbinden und kontrollieren dadurch Klang und Licht des Raumes.
Die Komposition für das Werk wurde aus Aufnahmen, die durch Interaktion mit Kupferobjekten entstanden sind, generiert.
Jede aktivierte Fläche leuchtet auf und fügt eine Audiospur zur Komposition hinzu.
Dadurch entsteht nicht nur eine Interaktion mit der Arbeit, sondern auch eine Interaktion zwischen den Besucher*innen. Durch das Zusammenspiel entstehen individuelle Kompositionen und Kombinationen der Audiospuren und immer neue Abwandlungen des Klanges.

- “finding traces and placing connections” is an interactive art installation and a personal love letter to the material copper. The work celebrates the functionality, versatility and beauty of copper.
Visitors can connect the copper surfaces embedded in the carpet with five copper-plated stones and thereby control the sound and light of the room.
The composition for the work was generated from recordings made through interaction with copper objects.
Each activated surface lights up and adds an audio track to the composition.
This not only creates an interaction with the work, but also an interaction between the visitors. The interplay creates individual compositions and combinations of audio tracks and ever new variations of the sound.
