Das Reisebüro Ghostly Matters bietet Ihnen eine saisonale Fahrt durch die weite, unheilvolle Landschaft des Schwarzwalds mitten in das Herz eines ehemaligen Grandhotels: Waldlust. Seine offenen Türen verbreiten den einzigartigen Duft von Urlaub, Klassizismus, Kunst und Luxus. Entdecken Sie mit uns die unerzählten Erzählungen seiner Wände, Möbel, Küche, Mitarbeiter und Gäste, die das Internationale mit dem Lokalen verbinden. Welche Spuren hinterlassen sich nach dem Verlassen der Zimmer im Hotel? Unser Team empfängt Sie am 5. Juli in Freudenstadt zu einem außergewöhnlichen Besuch der Ausstellungsstätte Waldlust. Die kommende Ausstellung ist die Fortsetzung einer kritischen und spielerischen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Erbe und dem zeitgenössischen Status von Grand Hotels. Welche Geister verfolgen uns in den Räumen des klassizistischen und kolonialen Luxus, in den Kammern der Fürsorge und Gastfreundschaft und in den Treffpunkten von Künstlern und wohlhabendem Bürgertum? Welche Zukünfte könnten aus einem Pool verschiedener Zeitlichkeiten entstehen? Die Ausstellung ist eine Kooperation zwischen Waldlust e.V., HfG Karlsruhe, ABK Stuttgart und Hochschule Offenburg.

Welcome to Grand Hotel, dear passengers! The travel agency Ghostly Matters offers you a seasonal ride through the vast, ominous landscape of the Black Forest right into the heart of a former Grand Hotel: Waldlust. Its open doors are spreading the unique odor of holidays, classism, art and luxury. Discover with us the untold narratives of its walls, furniture, kitchen, employees and guests, that merged the international and the local. Which traces are inscribed in the hotel after the rooms are left? Our Team will welcome you on the 5th of July in Freudenstadt for a remarkable visit to the exhibition setting at Waldlust. The upcoming exhibition is the continuation of a critical and playful exploration on the legacy and contemporary status of grand hotels. Which ghosts are haunting us in the spaces of classicist and colonial luxury, the chambers of care work and hospitality and meeting places of artists and wealthy bourgeoisie? Which futures could emerge out of a pool combining various temporalities? The exhibition is a collaboration between Waldlust e.V., HfG Karlsruhe, ABK Stuttgart and Hochschule Offenburg.

- Obszön, nerdy und aus Japan: Anime im Fernsehen zu schauen galt in vielen Haushalten in Deutschland als verrufen. Diese Rezeption von Anime entspricht zugleich den exotisierenden Stereotypen, die der (vorgeblich gesittete) Westen auf Japan projiziert. In ihrer Diplomarbeit nutzt Miki Feller Anime als Medium, um über anti-asiatischen Rassismus zu sprechen. Entstanden sind drei Videoarbeiten, die sie in ihrer Ausstellung „Versuche zu überschreiben“ gezeigt hat. Jedes Video erzählt eine eigene Geschichte, die in Karlsruhe spielt, unter anderem am Bahnhof, am Zoo und am Schloss. Es sind Versuche, eine vorherrschend weiße Umgebung zu beschreiben, sich dazu zu positionieren und davon zu distanzieren.
Die Videos wurden in Zusammenarbeit mit folgenden Personen realisiert und ausgestellt: „Versuche zu überschreiben“ mit Max Mandery (Dramaturgische Beratung), Bruno Jacoby (Grafik), Leia Walz (Ausstellungsgestaltung), Jaya Demmer (Textil), Johannes Thimm und Lina Determann (Rampe) / „Auf dem Weg zum Bahnhof“ mit Bruno Jacoby (Grafik) / „Prolog: Im Zoo“ mit Sophia Stadler (Storyboard, Schnitt & Fotos) / „Germania Girl – Konzert im Schloss!“ mit Max Mandery (Dramaturgische Beratung), Bruno Jacoby (Grafik), Yun-Wen Liu (Fotos & Farbkorrektur), Vanessa Bosch (Musik), Ricarda Fischer (Musik & Sounddesign), Meret Bhend und Paulina Mimberg (Farbkorrektur), Luise Peschko (Dialog Editing) sowie Nele Faust, Alejandra Janus, Melanie Berner, Rita Andrulyte, Nini Lü, Jörg Stegmann, Laura Haak und Josefine Scheu (Stimmen).

- Obscene, nerdy, and from Japan: In many German households, it was forbidden to watch anime on television. This perception of anime mirrors the exoticizing stereotypes projected onto Japan by the (allegedly civilized) West. In her diploma project, Miki Feller addresses anti-Asian racism in Germany by using anime as the medium. She created three video works and showcased them in the exhibition “Versuche zu überschreiben.” Each video tells a story set in Karlsruhe, for example, at the train station, the zoo, and the castle. These videos serve as attempts to describe a predominantly white environment, to position oneself in relation to it, and to distance oneself from it.

The video "Germania Girl – Concert at the Castle!“ combines the idea of Germany's alleged fight with the anime genre of the Magical Girl. Set up like an episode of the series "Sailor Moon", the story deals with an "ordinary" schoolgirl who lives in Karlsruhe. As Germania Girl, she protects her hometown from a mysterious alien power called The Other. The work expresses the complicity of the audience with Germania (Girl).

- Die unterschiedlichen filmische Sequenzen waren als Projektionen im Raum (großes Studio) auf Wänden zu sehen. Sie erzählen von Überlebensstrategien auf engem Raum, von der Subkultur im Gefängnis:
Sucuk aus dem Wasserkocher, Gebetsketten aus Brot,
Apfelbäume aus Joghurtbechern und Duschgel als Raumduft.
Die Sequenzen sind Erzählungen aus dem Interview mit Badaue (Pseudonym). Die zu sehenden Handlungen hat er, während der Zeit der Untersuchungshaft, zum Teil selbst entwickelt, zum Teil von anderen Inhaftierten erfahren.

Sucuk from a kettle, prayer chains made of bread,
apple trees from yogurt pots, and shower gel as a room scent.
The sequences are narrations from the interview with Badaue (pseudonym). He developed the actions to be seen, during the time of pre-trial detention, partly himself, partly experienced from other detainees.

- Der Global Game Jam (GGJ) ist das weltweit größte Game Jam-Event – eine Art Hackathon, der sich auf die Entwicklung von Spielen konzentriert und an zahlreichen Orten auf der ganzen Welt stattfindet.
Im Jahr 2019 wird zum siebten Mal eine eigene Jam Site an der HfG Karlsruhe eingerichtet. Erfahrene (professionelle) Game Designer treffen auf Nachwuchsentwickler: Alle sind willkommen.
Bis zu 50 Personen sind eingeladen mitzujammen und Teil der weltweiten Entwickler-Community zu werden. Innerhalb von nur 48 Stunden entstehen neue, einzigartige Computerspiele zu einem vorgegebenen Thema. Die Veranstaltung begrüßt internationale Gäste an der HfG Karlsruhe. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos.
Die Ergebnisse – spielbare Computerspiele zu einem bestimmten Thema – werden am Sonntag, den 27.1. um 17 Uhr allen präsentiert. Die Präsentation zeigt alle Games, die während der 48 Stunden Jam an der HfG Karlsruhe entstanden sind. Interessierte Gäste sind herzlich willkommen, die Games des Global Game Jam kennenzulernen. Die Vorstellung ist natürlich für alle öffentlich und selbstverständlich kostenlos.
Der Global Game Jam ist eine Kooperation der Staatlichen Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe und des ZKM | Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie in Karlsruhe und wird unterstützt durch das K3 Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaftsbüro Karlsruhe.

- The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world's largest game jam event (game creation) taking place around the world at physical locations. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development.
In 2019, a jam site will be set up for the seventh time at the HfG Karlsruhe. Experienced (professional) game designers meet up-and-coming developers: everyone is welcome. Up to 50 people are invited to join in and become part of the global developer community. Within just 48 hours, new, unique computer games are created on a specific topic. The event welcomes international guests at the HfG Karlsruhe. Participation is free.
The results – playable computer games on a specific topic – are presented the world on Sunday. The presentation shows all the games that were created during the 48-hour jam at the HfG Karlsruhe. Interested guests are welcome to meet the games of the Global Game Jam. The presentation is public for all – and of course free of charge.
The Global Game Jam is a cooperation of the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design and the ZKM | Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe and is supported by the K3 Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaftsbüro Karlsruhe.

- Der Global Game Jam (GGJ) ist das weltweit größte Game Jam-Event – eine Art Hackathon, der sich auf die Entwicklung von Spielen konzentriert und an zahlreichen Orten auf der ganzen Welt stattfindet.
Im Jahr 2019 wird zum siebten Mal eine eigene Jam Site an der HfG Karlsruhe eingerichtet. Erfahrene (professionelle) Game Designer treffen auf Nachwuchsentwickler: Alle sind willkommen.
Bis zu 50 Personen sind eingeladen mitzujammen und Teil der weltweiten Entwickler-Community zu werden. Innerhalb von nur 48 Stunden entstehen neue, einzigartige Computerspiele zu einem vorgegebenen Thema. Die Veranstaltung begrüßt internationale Gäste an der HfG Karlsruhe. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos.
Die Ergebnisse – spielbare Computerspiele zu einem bestimmten Thema – werden am Sonntag, den 27.1. um 17 Uhr allen präsentiert. Die Präsentation zeigt alle Games, die während der 48 Stunden Jam an der HfG Karlsruhe entstanden sind. Interessierte Gäste sind herzlich willkommen, die Games des Global Game Jam kennenzulernen. Die Vorstellung ist natürlich für alle öffentlich und selbstverständlich kostenlos.
Der Global Game Jam ist eine Kooperation der Staatlichen Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe und des ZKM | Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie in Karlsruhe und wird unterstützt durch das K3 Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaftsbüro Karlsruhe.

- The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world's largest game jam event (game creation) taking place around the world at physical locations. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development.
In 2019, a jam site will be set up for the seventh time at the HfG Karlsruhe. Experienced (professional) game designers meet up-and-coming developers: everyone is welcome. Up to 50 people are invited to join in and become part of the global developer community. Within just 48 hours, new, unique computer games are created on a specific topic. The event welcomes international guests at the HfG Karlsruhe. Participation is free.
The results – playable computer games on a specific topic – are presented the world on Sunday. The presentation shows all the games that were created during the 48-hour jam at the HfG Karlsruhe. Interested guests are welcome to meet the games of the Global Game Jam. The presentation is public for all – and of course free of charge.
The Global Game Jam is a cooperation of the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design and the ZKM | Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe and is supported by the K3 Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaftsbüro Karlsruhe.
