For a perception-centered theory of space in the theater

Neben einer schriftlichen Ausführung, in der Überlegungen aus der Sicht von mir als Bühnenbildnerin zur Raumfolge von Theater Architekturen ausgeführt werden, handelt es sich um eine experimentelle Licht-/Sound- und Video Inszenierung. Diese wird in einer Raum-im-Raum Installation, einer geodätischen Kuppel nach Buckminster Fuller gezeigt. Der "Dome" zeigt sich mit seinen hervorragenden Licht- und Akustik-Eigenschaften als attraktiver Umraum für eine Theater Inszenierung im Innen- und Außenraum. Weg von monumentalen Denkmal Bauten zu leicht aufbaubaren und immersiven Zeltstrukturen, die sich in den öffentlichen Raum einfügen können und somit Theater in der Stadt sichtbar machen.
Aus meiner Position als Bühnenbildnerin will ich zeigen, dass allein der Raum eine Geschichte erzählen kann. Dazu habe ich eine 360° Bühne entworfen, die den Zuschauer umgibt und so das Einfühlen in die Atmosphäre durch die räumliche Annäherung erleichtert werden soll.
Die Inszenierung, ein Beispiel für die theoretische Ausführung, ist angelehnt an Platons Höhlengleichnis und behandelt dessen raumtheoretischen und philosophischen Inhalt. Neben Seh- und Hörsinn werden weitere Sinne wie Geruch und das Erfühlen von Materialoberflächen angesprochen. Insgesamt ergibt sich so ein ganzheitliches Theater-Erlebnis.

In addition to a written version, in which reflections from my perspective as a stage designer on the spatial sequence of theater architectures are presented, it is an experimental light/sound and video production. This is shown in a room-within-a-room installation, a geodesic dome based on Buckminster Fuller. With its outstanding lighting and acoustic properties, the "Dome" presents itself as an attractive environment for a theater production both indoors and outdoors. Away from monumental memorial buildings to easily erectable and immersive tent structures that can be integrated into the public space and thus make theater visible in the city.
From my position as a stage designer, I want to show that space alone can tell a story. To this end, I have designed a 360° stage that surrounds the audience, making it easier to empathize with the atmosphere through the spatial approach.
The staging, an example of the theoretical execution, is based on Plato's Allegory of the Cave and deals with its spatial-theoretical and philosophical content. In addition to sight and hearing, other senses such as smell and the feeling of material surfaces are also addressed. The overall result is a holistic theater experience.
