Die multimediale Installation mit dem Titel "KFZ-MechatronikerInnen" besteht aus einem barrierefrei gestaltetem Raum, welcher durch Hohl- und Theaterwände zum Leben erweckt wird. In ihr sind 5 Objektinstallationen und eine Videoinstallation zu erkunden. Das Projekt beschäftigt sich thematisch mit Frauen in der KFZ-Mechatronik, ihrer Leidenschaft für Technik und ihrem Lebensstil. Dabei werden neben ihrer Begeisterung für Kraftfahrzeuge auch Themen von Diskriminierung und Sexismus am Arbeitsplatz und in der Szene thematisiert.
The multimedia installation entitled “KFZ-MechatronikerInnen” (Automotive Mechatronics Technicians) consists of a barrier-free room that is brought to life by hollow and theater walls. Inside, there are five object installations and a video installation to explore. The project deals with the theme of women in automotive mechatronics, their passion for technology, and their lifestyle. In addition to their enthusiasm for motor vehicles, topics such as discrimination and sexism in the workplace and in the scene are also addressed.

Die multimediale Installation mit dem Titel "KFZ-MechatronikerInnen" besteht aus einem barrierefrei gestaltetem Raum, in welchem fünf materielle und eine bewegtbildbasierte Arbeit ausgestellt sind. Der Raum wird mit einer Wand an Flyern, inspiriert an der Direktheit der Werbung für das "Women's Car Repair Collective" der Lesbian Alliance of St. Louis (beginn der 1970er), eingeleitet um in die Rauminstallation, meine persönliche Werkstatt, einzuladen. Die Einzelnen Objektinstallationen bestehen aus einer Bücherwand an Autoratgebern speziell für Frauen, einem pinken Werkzeughaufen, einem Bett anstelle einer Hebebühne und einem Werkzeugschrank, welcher als Anlaufstelle für reale SchrauberInnen Kurse von einer der Protagonistinnen aus dem dort gezeigten dokumentarischen Kurzfilm dient. Die Objekte dürfen als saloppe Übersetzung des Alltagssexismus an Frauen und ihr Empowerment verstanden werden, da sie auf Erfahrungen der befragten KFZ-Mechatronikerinnen in diesem Projekt basieren.
Die Videoarbeit fokussiert sich auf Hannah und Anna, zwei Frauen mit unterschiedlichem Lifestyle in der Autowelt und technikbegeisterte Schrauberinnen. Sie teilen mit uns ihren Alltag, ihre Liebe zum Auto und ihre guten, sowie schlechten Erfahrungen in der Branche. Der Raum lädt zur Interpretation ein.

The multimedia installation entitled “KFZ-MechatronikerInnen” (Automotive Mechatronics Technicians) consists of a barrier-free room in which five material works and one moving image-based work are exhibited. The space is introduced by a wall of flyers inspired by the directness of the advertising for the Lesbian Alliance of St. Louis' “Women's Car Repair Collective” (early 1970s), inviting visitors into the room installation, my personal workshop. The individual object installations consist of a bookcase filled with car repair guides specifically for women, a pile of pink tools, a bed instead of a lifting platform, and a tool cabinet that serves as a contact point for real mechanics taking courses from one of the protagonists from the documentary short film shown there. The objects can be understood as a casual translation of everyday sexism against women and their empowerment, as they are based on the experiences of the female automotive mechatronics technicians interviewed in this project.
The video work focuses on Hannah and Anna, two women with different lifestyles in the automotive world and tech-savvy mechanics. They share with us their everyday lives, their love of cars, and their good and bad experiences in the industry. The space invites interpretation.
