- Die Aktion und Performance "Auch meine Zunge, die ich rausstrecke, ist rot"
Die drei Personen in roten Trainingskostümen sind Scream Queens*. Sie tragen jeweils ein rotes Objekt aus Keramik, welches wie ein Megafon die Stimme verstärkt. Der Fokus der Aktion und Performance liegt auf dem Schreien. Wenn Flinta* Personen schreien, gelten sie als überemotional, hysterisch oder nervig. Mit ihren Körpern und Stimmen weihen die drei Performer*innen den “Mount Klotz” ein.
Sie praktizieren Schreien als eine Erholungsmaßnahme. Was ist Erholung? Welche Formen kann Erholung annehmen?
"Ich möchte manchmal schreien, traue es mich aber nicht. Ich hab auch nie gelernt zu schreien. Irgendwann habe ich es VERlernt. Als Baby hab ich bestimmt viel geschrien. Als weiblich sozialisiert sollen wir nicht laut sein oder laut lachen, sonst sind wir störrisch oder dramatisch. Schreien wird häufig als Kreischen verstanden und eine hohe Stimme zu haben ist süß. Ich habe verlernt, richtig laut zu sein. Jetzt wird geschrien."
Der “Mount Klotz” wird zu “Mount Scream” und ist ein Ort, an dem geschrien, gekreischt und gebrüllt wird.
*Scream Queens sind professionelle Filmschreierinnen der 1930er Jahre in Hollywood
Er bezeichnete professionelle Filmschreierinnen, technisch versiert und körperlich gefordert, die durch ihre Stimme ganze Spannungsbögen trugen. Gleichzeitig verfestigte die Figur stereotype Vorstellungen von Weiblichkeit als überemotional, passiv und verletzlich. Aus feministischer Perspektive ist sie bis heute ein ambivalentes Symbol: zwischen performativer Stärke und popkulturellem Klischee.
FLINTA* steht für Frauen, Lesben, intergeschlechtliche, nicht-binäre, trans und agender Personen.
Die Aktion und Performance “Auch meine Zunge, die ich rausstrecke, ist rot (AT)” ist Teil der Diplomarbeit “Well, don’t you do wellness (AT)” von Jaya Demmer.

- Obszön, nerdy und aus Japan: Anime im Fernsehen zu schauen galt in vielen Haushalten in Deutschland als verrufen. Diese Rezeption von Anime entspricht zugleich den exotisierenden Stereotypen, die der (vorgeblich gesittete) Westen auf Japan projiziert. In ihrer Diplomarbeit nutzt Miki Feller Anime als Medium, um über anti-asiatischen Rassismus zu sprechen. Entstanden sind drei Videoarbeiten, die sie in ihrer Ausstellung „Versuche zu überschreiben“ gezeigt hat. Jedes Video erzählt eine eigene Geschichte, die in Karlsruhe spielt, unter anderem am Bahnhof, am Zoo und am Schloss. Es sind Versuche, eine vorherrschend weiße Umgebung zu beschreiben, sich dazu zu positionieren und davon zu distanzieren.

- Obscene, nerdy, and from Japan: In many German households, it was forbidden to watch anime on television. This perception of anime mirrors the exoticizing stereotypes projected onto Japan by the (allegedly civilized) West. In her diploma project, Miki Feller addresses anti-Asian racism in Germany by using anime as the medium. She created three video works and showcased them in the exhibition “Versuche zu überschreiben.” Each video tells a story set in Karlsruhe, for example, at the train station, the zoo, and the castle. These videos serve as attempts to describe a predominantly white environment, to position oneself in relation to it, and to distance oneself from it.

- Deutschland kämpfe aus „Selbstschutz“ gegen das „böse Andere“ – diese Überzeugung ist wie eh und je die Basis für rassistische Hetze in diesem Land. Das Video „Germania Girl – Konzert im Schloss!“ verbindet die Idee von Deutschlands vermeintlichen Kampf mit dem Anime-Genre des Magical Girls. Angelegt wie eine Episode der Serie „Sailor Moon“ handelt die Geschichte von einem „gewöhnlichen“ Schulmädchen, das in Karlsruhe lebt. Als Germania Girl beschützt sie ihre Heimatstadt vor einer mysteriösen, außerirdischen Macht namens The Other. Die Arbeit verweist dabei auf die Kompliz*innenschaft der Zuschauer*innen mit Germania (Girl).
