- Ich habe verschiedene Theorien dazu untersucht, nach welchen Mustern sich Städte und Menschen verändern und welche typischen Phasen sie im Laufe ihres Lebens durchlaufen. Auf dieser Grundlage habe ich sieben verschiedene Lebensphasen entwickelt, die sich sowohl auf die Berliner Potsdamer Straße als auch auf das menschliche Leben im Allgemeinen beziehen lassen.
Während die Besucher visuell Archivfotografien der Potsdamer Straße betrachten konnten, konnten sie über Kopfhörer parallel dazu die entstandenen Audioaufnahmen hören. Auf diese Weise konnten sie Zeit und Raum gleichzeitig auf zwei unterschiedlichen Ebenen erleben.
Für die Audioarbeiten habe ich Interviews mit Freund geführt. Mein Ziel war es, alltägliche, ganz unterschiedliche Menschen einzubeziehen, die jeweils einer der sieben definierten Lebensphasen zugeordnet werden können. In den Interviews habe ich sie vor allem nach ihren emotionalen Erfahrungen und ihrem persönlichen Erleben innerhalb dieser Lebensphase gefragt.
Auf Grundlage der Interviews habe ich die Antworten anschließend in poetischere Texte übertragen. Das von mir entwickelte Skript wird schließlich von einer Schauspielerin, Stefani Matkovic dargestellt.

- I researched various theories about the patterns through which cities and people change, and the typical stages they go through over the course of their lives.
Based on this research, I developed seven different stages that can be applied both to Berlin’s Potsdamer Straße and to human life in general.
While visitors could visually explore archival photographs of Potsdamer Straße, they could simultaneously listen to the accompanying audio pieces through headphones. In this way, they experienced time and space simultaneously on two different levels.

- Im Gespräch mit Künstler, Matthias Mansen ging es unter anderem um seine Erinnerungen und persönlichen Verbindungen zur Potsdamer Straße in Berlin sowie um die Motivation, die ihn dazu bewegt hat, eine Serie von Holzschnitten über diese Straße zu entwickeln.
Darüber hinaus sprach er über seine persönlichen und künstlerischen Beziehungen zu anderen Städten, in denen er gelebt und gearbeitet hat. Seine Geschichten und persönlichen Perspektiven verbinden die Inhalte der Ausstellung auf besondere Weise und schaffen einen klaren roten Faden für die Interpretation und das Verständnis der von mir gesammelten und präsentierten Materialien.
Das Interviewvideo habe ich mit einem von mir erstellten Video zusammengeschnitten, in dem ich aus einem Bus heraus dokumentiere, wie diese Berliner Straße heute aussieht.

- In the interview with an artist, Matthias Mansen, I asked him about his memories and personal connections to Potsdamer Straße in Berlin, as well as about the motivation that led him to create a series of woodcuts depicting the street. We also discussed his personal and artistic connections to other cities where he has lived and worked.
His stories and personal perspectives connect the themes of the exhibition in a meaningful way, providing a clear thread for interpreting and understanding the materials I have collected and presented in the exhibition.
I edited the interview video together with a video I created, in which I document from a bus how this Berlin street looks today.
