Rennsteig I, 2005 lässt den Betrachter über seinen Standpunkt im Unklaren. Der starke Gegensatz zwischen Vordergrund und Hintergrund schafft Verwirrung und Orientierungslosigkeit. Das (Vexier-) Bild setzt sich erst bei längerer Betrachtung zusammen und lässt dabei die einzelnen Elemente langsam erkennen. Der schneebedeckte Vordergrund und der grünen Landschaft im Hintergrund steigern die Absurdität des Abgebildeten. Die Eingriffe des Menschen in die Natur lassen sich erahnen und damit einhergehend die Erkenntnis, dass er dabei nicht um die Schönheit derselben geht, sondern um die reine Funktionalität.

Rennsteig I, 2005 leaves the viewer in the dark as to his position. The stark contrast between foreground and background creates confusion and disorientation. The (puzzle) picture only comes together when viewed over a longer period of time, slowly revealing the individual elements. The snow-covered foreground and the green landscape in the background heighten the absurdity of what is depicted. Man's intervention in nature can be sensed and with it the realization that he is not interested in its beauty, but in pure functionality.
AKW, 2006 wirft in ähnlicher Weise Fragen auf, wie „K & S“. Die Frage nach der Örtlichkeit, der Größenverhältnisse und der Echtheit stellen sich erneut wieder. Der Schlauch in der Bildmitte bietet die Möglichkeit, eine Einschätzung über die Größe abzugeben. Der Eindruck der Künstlichkeit der Anordnung der Berge drängt sich dem Betrachter auf. Sinn und Zweck, sowie die Fragen zur Entstehung dieser Landschaftsformation bleiben jedoch auch hier unbeantwortet. Materialität und Struktur wiederholen sich hier auf ähnlich Weise wie in der oben genannten Arbeit.

AKW, 2006 raises questions in a similar way to “K & S”. The question of location, size and authenticity arises again. The tube in the center of the picture offers the opportunity to make an assessment of the size. The viewer is left with the impression that the arrangement of the mountains is artificial. However, the meaning and purpose, as well as the questions about the creation of this landscape formation, remain unanswered here too. Materiality and structure are repeated here in a similar way to the work mentioned above.
Die Arbeit Treptow, 2002 ist die älteste Arbeit in der Präsentation. Sie ist der Stellvertreter für den Beginn meiner fotografischen Tätigkeit. Die Auseinandersetzung mit Erlebnisparks steht in Zusammenhang mit dem Szenografie-Studium an der HfG.
Der Gegensatz zwischen Natur und Künstlichkeit wird hierbei besonders deutlich. Das seiner ursprünglichen Bedeutung enthobene Fahrgeschäft mutiert zur funktionslosen Skulptur die sich quer durch das Bild zieht. Seiner ursprünglichen Bedeutung enthoben, erobert sich die Natur den von Menschen konstruierten Platz zurück. Die Lichtstimmung in diesem Bild oszilliert zwischen Melancholie und Absurdität.

The work Treptow, 2002 is the oldest work in the presentation. It represents the beginning of my photographic work. The exploration of adventure parks is connected to my scenography studies at the HfG.
The contrast between nature and artificiality becomes particularly clear here. The ride, stripped of its original meaning, mutates into a functionless sculpture that runs right through the picture. Stripped of its original meaning, nature reclaims the space constructed by man. The lighting mood in this picture oscillates between melancholy and absurdity.
Die Arbeit Hinterzarten, 2006 stellt ein Bindeglied zwischen den Arbeiten Rennsteig I, Neustadt und K&S dar. Die vollständige Auflösung von Raum und Inhalt lässt die Arbeit sich in Form und grafische Fläche transformieren. Die starke Abstraktion rührt zum einen wiederum von einem ungewöhnlichen Kamerastandpunkt her, aber auch aufgrund eines digitalen „Eingriff“ ins Bild. Auch hier tritt die Modellierung stark in den Vordergrund. Die malerische Komponente die dabei auftritt bildet ein Wechselspiel zwischen realer und fiktiver Landschaftsdarstellung und lässt den Betrachter über das Abgebildete im Unklaren

The work Hinterzarten, 2006 represents a link between the works Rennsteig I, Neustadt and K&S. The complete dissolution of space and content allows the work to transform itself into form and graphic surface. The strong abstraction stems on the one hand from an unusual camera position, but also from a digital “intervention” in the image. Here, too, the modeling comes to the fore. The painterly component that emerges creates an interplay between real and fictitious landscape representation and leaves the viewer in the dark about what is depicted
K & S, 2006 ist im Februar dieses Jahres entstanden. Wiederum bleibt der Betrachter mit der Fragestellung nach der Echtheit des Abgebildeten und dessen Materie alleine. Das Licht, dass einen Vergleich mit einer Soft-Box-Situation im Studio zulässt, verstärkt den Charakter von Künstlichkeit und Modellhaftigkeit.
Auch die Frage nach einer digitalen Montage ist in diesem Zusammenhang berechtigt. Die malerische Komponente kommt bei diesem Motiv stark zum Tragen. Die Materialität des Berges steht im Gegensatz zur scheinbar realen Wiese im Vordergrund und steigert somit die Absurdität des Gesamteindrucks. Die geradezu dramatische Himmelsformation tut ihr Übriges dazu. Das Fehlen von jeglichen Referenzpunkten in Bezug auf Größe und Dimension werfen weitere Fragen über die Örtlichkeit auf. Weniger „versetzt“ als „eingesetzt“ ruht der Berg zentral im Bild. Der Titel „K & S“ geht bezieht sich auf das Unternehmen „Kali & Salz“, dass für den Berg verantwortlich ist.

K & S, 2006 was created in February of this year. Once again, the viewer is left alone with the question of the authenticity of the depicted and its material. The light, which allows a comparison with a soft-box situation in the studio, reinforces the character of artificiality and model-like quality.
The question of digital montage is also justified in this context. The painterly component comes to the fore in this motif. The materiality of the mountain stands in contrast to the seemingly real meadow in the foreground and thus increases the absurdity of the overall impression. The almost dramatic sky formation does the rest. The lack of any reference points in terms of size and dimension raises further questions about the location. The mountain is not so much “offset” as “inserted” in the center of the picture. The title “K & S” refers to the company “Kali & Salz”, which is responsible for the mountain.
